What My 3-Week Fast Taught Me About My Body, My Skin, and My Habit

Your body speaks — most of us just don’t slow down long enough to hear it.

Over the past three weeks, I went through a fasting and clean-eating journey that completely shifted my awareness. The first week consisted of liquids only during the day: herbal teas and water. No solid food until evening. The next two weeks, I ate very clean — mostly salads and light meals. Some days, I didn’t even feel hungry because my body had adjusted.

When I returned to eating regular foods, something unexpected happened.

Foods I once loved didn’t taste good anymore. Some tasted overly salty. Some sauces felt overpowering. And certain meals made my body feel sluggish or achy the next morning. I even noticed physical reactions after eating fried foods I hadn’t had in weeks.

It was revealing.

Not in a judgmental way. In an awareness way.

I realized my body had reset. My taste buds had recalibrated. My tolerance for certain ingredients had changed. And for the first time, I could clearly feel the connection between what I consumed and how I felt — physically and mentally.

Even sugar affected me. After eating something sweet recently, I felt a subtle tension in my head. Nothing dramatic — just enough to remind me that what we eat has real-time effects.

As someone who creates skincare, this reinforced something I’ve always believed:

Healthy skin is not only about what you apply. It’s also about what you consume.

Your habits…
Your nourishment…
Your rest…
Your peace…

All of it shows up on your skin.

This journey didn’t make me perfect. It made me aware. And awareness is where transformation begins.

If there’s one thing I hope you take from this, it’s this:

Listen to your body. It’s always communicating. 🤍
