A Natural Skincare Routine for Sensitive Skin (That Doesn’t Stress You Out)

If your skin has ever flipped out on you for no reason—one day it’s calm, the next day it’s red, dry, or just doing the most—you’re definitely not alone.

One of the biggest reasons I started DOQE was because I was tired of putting things on my skin (and my kids’ skin) that left us worse off. I wanted clean, natural skincare that actually supported our skin—without all the drama.

So today, I want to walk you through a realistic natural skincare routine for sensitive skin. No 12-step program. No overthinking. Just a simple routine your skin will love.

1. Cleanse Gently, Always

Cleansing is where it all begins—but if your face feels tight, itchy, or dry after washing, it’s time to switch it up.

A bar I always recommend is my Activated Turmeric & Charcoal Facial Soap. It’s crafted with turmeric oil and activated charcoal powder to gently cleanse and help pull impurities from the skin—without stripping it. No added herbs, no synthetic fragrances, no nonsense. Just clean ingredients doing their job.

Tip from me: Use lukewarm water—not hot—when washing your face. Sensitive skin loves calm, not chaos.

2. Keep Toners Simple (Or Skip Them)

Toners can be helpful for pH balance, but for sensitive skin, less is more. Look for something gentle like rosewater or chamomile. And if even that feels like too much, skip it. Honestly—your skin won’t miss what it doesn’t need.

3. Moisturize with Purpose

This is my favorite part—because here’s where I get to talk about a product I truly love and use every single day. After I wash my face, I apply my handcrafted herbal Queen Esther's Healing & Anointing Oil Facial & Body Oil.

It’s a lightweight facial and body oil made with coconut oil, a hint of lemon, jasmine, frankincense, and myrrh essential oils, plus a blend of herbs known to support skin health. The scent is soft and calming, and the way it leaves your skin feeling? Pure peace.

It hydrates without feeling greasy, and it absorbs beautifully—making it perfect for daily use, especially if your skin needs something that feels nourishing but not heavy.

4. Stay Consistent (That’s the Real Secret)

Here’s what I always remind people: you don’t need a drawer full of products to have good skin. You need a rhythm. A routine that respects your skin and lets it breathe.

So if you’re just starting out, try this:

  • Cleanse (morning + night)
  • Moisturize with a clean oil or balm (daily)
  • Optional: add toner or serum if it works for you

That’s it. No stress. Just simple, soul-soothing skincare that gives your skin space to thrive.

Final Thoughts From Me

I get so many messages from people who are tired of trying everything and getting nowhere. Sensitive skin can be discouraging, but I promise—natural skincare done with intention makes a difference.

Every product I make at DOQE is handcrafted with care, using ingredients that make sense. From my Shea Butter Baby Soap to my Oil, everything I create is rooted in restoring—not overwhelming—your skin.

If your skin has been crying out for a reset, start here. Keep it simple. Be kind to yourself. And remember—your glow doesn’t come from doing the most. It comes from doing what’s right for you.

With love,
